Brighton and Scotty were one of my favorite couples to shoot this last year! Sometimes you just meet people and feel like you have been friends for a lifetime – this is how I felt after our first meeting about their wedding day. We bonded over art and photography, mullets, jiu-jitsu, and dad jokes. Scotty is an MMA coach for jiu-jitsu and many of his athletes fight in the UFC so next time you’re watching UFC take a look at the corner men and you may see Scotty The Jiujitsu Hottie. Brighton works in the arts world working with photographers, directors and other creatives.
Their wedding day was bad ass! They rented out the entire Neon Museum which was a first for me to experience. Generally, couples just rent the North Gallery for an hour or less. They definitely exercised the motto “GO BIG OR GO HOME” by renting out the entire Neon Museum. It didn’t stop there then they hired Harry Shahoian Elvis to marry them and he was by far the best Elvis Presley Officiant. He rocked out during the ceremony, played the guitar, sang songs, and got them married while pulling out Kung-Fu kicks and karate chops while walking them down the aisle to start off their life as husband and wife.
D.J. Mike Fox kicked off the night with amazing music for all to shake their asses to! The night was catered by Renaissance Catering and let me tell you that food was exceptional. They had a bad ass dessert bar which consisted of two of my favorite desert vendors: Insomnia Cookies provided some bomb ass cookies and the donuts were by Pinkbox Donuts (one of my favorite local donut shops which are open 24/7 which is such a plus if you’re a fat kid at heart like me! ).We took a ton of time exploring the neon signs at night and capturing some of the raddest photos around. Scotty even got naked at one point! We did shots, we danced, and we partied! Like all good parties the show had to close, and the night had to end, but not without a to-go box of donuts that the bride insisted I take with me! If you’re wondering about the donuts: yes, I ate them all and no they never made it to my house!
