When you think of wedding dates, the last date you’d ever think of is Halloween. It’s just not a romantic date. Halloween conjures up images of scary movies, black cats, pumpkins and the color orange. The last thing you want associated with your wedding is horror! But not all couples think this. I’ve hardly done wedding on Halloween because couples don’t see the romance in this fall holiday. Not to say it’s not done though; if it’s the only date available, then of course you’ll take it! But October 31stisn’t a favored day to tie the knot. But this all changed on October 31st at the Boojum Tree in Phoenix, Arizona.
Well, Emily and Travis aren’t your normal couple! They are extraordinary and were completely head over heels for each other the moment we first set up a meeting to talk about their wedding photos. You could see the love they had for each other the way the talked about their forever and wedding. They were deeply in love and everyone around them knew it. When they told me about their October 31stwedding, I knew I had to capture the festive vibes and their enamored love for one another by booking it!
Plus, they were saying “I Do” at one of Arizona’s reputable wedding venues – The Boojum Tree. It’s actually the state’s most unique and exotic event destination, so it actually was the perfect backdrop for their Halloween nuptials! The venue features a Hacienda-style plaza, where guests could socialize in their Old World Cantina and dine in their 10,000-sq-ft indoor tropical garden. Guests were able to dance the night away and celebrate the couple’s nuptials in the beautiful Palm Garden. Basically, Boojum Tree is a paradise for any wedding and was an exciting backdrop for such an exquisite wedding.
The Boojum Tree was amazing to capture and one of those places that you fall in love with the minute you first walk in. Emily and Travis couldn’t stop raving about how great the customer service was as they anticipated the big day. And when it rolled around, it was an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere they create is unlike any other in Arizona and the pictures really do capture this.
On the day of the wedding, everything went off without a hitch! No bad luck or anything creepy happened for Travis or Emily that day. It was the happiest day of their lives, and the lives of Travis’ two kids from a previous relationship. They simply adored Emily and the way they looked at her you could tell they all got along great. Everyone was really excited for the day and there was love all around.
During the wedding shoot, the kids were so doting on Emily and she was the same. She was going to be a great parent and Travis obviously already knew that! He just couldn’t keep his eyes off of his bride the entire day. He was all smiles and would sneak in small kisses with Emily every chance he got. And Emily was just glowing with happiness the entire time.
It was a delightful ceremony and the reception was fun! Thank you Emily and Travis for allowing me to capture such a memorable and wonderful day.
